Steel Fire-Resistant Rolling Shutter Doors Overview

The Steel Fire-Resistant Rolling Shutter Door (hereinafter referred to as the "fire shutter") is an automatic fire compartmentation facility compliant with national fire safety regulations and standards. Primarily constructed from fire-resistant materials, it is designed to close (or descend) automatically according to a predetermined program in the event of a fire, effectively preventing the spread of flames and smoke. This provides crucial time for occupant evacuation and firefighting operations. This product is widely used for openings in fire compartments, escape routes, elevator lobbies, atriums, and other areas in industrial and civil buildings.Steel Fire-Resistant Rolling Shutter Doors

Main Technical Parameters and Performance Indicators

Fire Resistance Rating:Class F4 (Fire resistance rating ≥ 4.0h). Other classes such as F3 (≥3.0h) or F2 (≥2.0h) are available based on design requirements.
Material:Curtain Slats: High-quality galvanized steel sheet, thickness ≥ 1.5mm. Slats feature a double-curved composite structure filled with environmentally friendly, high-temperature-resistant insulation material.
Opening/Closing Speed:Electric operation: 2-9 m/min (adjustable). Free-fall descent by gravity: ≤ 9.5 m/min.
Motor Power:Determined by door opening size, typically 0.75kW - 2.2kW, 380V/50Hz three-phase or 220V single-phase power supply.
Control Modes:Standard electric control, fire alarm linkage control (receiving signals from smoke/heat detectors), manual control (pull chain, push buttons), and thermal auto-release (fusible link device, activates at 68°C ±5°C).
Guides/Rails:Made from formed galvanized steel sheet, depth ≥ 70mm, thickness ≥ 2.0mm, ensuring the curtain slats do not deform or jam under high temperatures.
Housing/Cover Box:Recessed or surface-mounted, constructed from ≥ 1.2mm galvanized steel sheet, providing aesthetic finish and protection for the rolling mechanism.
Roller Shaft:High-quality seamless steel tube, diameter ≥ 165mm, wall thickness ≥ 4.0mm, ensuring sufficient strength and rigidity.
Manual Operation:tandard equipped with manual quick-release device and hand chain for manual operation during power failure.

System Composition and Core Component Requirements

Curtain Assembly:

Curtain slats employ an interlocking structure to ensure integrity and sealing.Wind bars/hooks can be added on the rear side (for wide openings) to ensure wind load resistance.A removable kick plate can be installed at the bottom of the curtain.

Drive and Transmission System:

Uses a dedicated fire shutter motor, with built-in brake and limit switches.

Transmission parts:

gear reducer, couplings, and bearing blocks must be robust and durable.Steel Fire-Resistant Rolling Shutter Doors

Control System:

Control Box: Independent or recessed type, with built-in interfaces for fire alarm linkage (dry contacts).

Push Button Station:

Two-button (Up/Stop/Down) or four-button (with additional Stop/Reset functions) with indicator lights.

Linkage Function:

Can interface with the building's fire alarm control panel to achieve single-stage descent (activated by smoke detector signal, descends to mid-position or full down as per design) or two-stage descent (activated by smoke signal to mid-position, then by heat signal to full down position).

Guides and Housing:

Guides must be securely fixed to walls/structural beams using embedded steel plates or chemical anchors. Installation vertical tolerance ≤ 1.5‰.The housing should be sealed to protect the shaft and motor from dust.

Thermal Release Device:

Independent from the electrical control system. Automatically releases (melts) at a set ambient temperature, allowing the shutter to close under its own weight.

Installation and CommissioningFireproof rolling shutter door motor

Installation Prerequisites: Opening dimensions must be verified on-site by our technical personnel. A minimum clearance of ≥600mm is required above the opening, and ≥200mm on each side for guide installation.
Embedded Parts: The construction party must provide embedded plates or pre-drilled holes as per our drawings.
Installation Sequence: Site marking → Bracket/Shaft installation → Motor installation → No-load test run → Curtain slat installation → Guide installation → Loaded test run → Limit switch adjustment → Control box installation → Linkage testing.
Commissioning Requirements:Upper and lower limit positions must be precise, with repetitive positioning error ≤ 20mm.Manual quick-release operation must be smooth, and descent must be unobstructed.
Linkage Test: Simulating fire alarm signals, the shutter must operate accurately according to the predefined program (single-stage or two-stage descent).
